It's more than just that- there are too many flights overall. DCA was never meant to accomodate that much traffic.
Increased DCA traffic is not what's causing the near misses. It's excessive military flights.
I noticed that I heard military jets on Friday. Used to be almost daily, but they have cut back a ton. Must’ve been an important funeral at Arlington.

Maybe. But it's not like passenger planes are hitting other passenger planes or near misses with passenger planes. Don't deflect.
It's near misses or hits involving military aircraft.

You mean men and women who are brave enough to risk their lives for our safety and freedom?
I have respect for them when they do. Also I note that most people who enlist do so because they have no other option. It's supposed to be honest work, and, when push comes to shove... how shall I put it... government-sanctioned violence against what you hope are genuine enemies (instead of random targets announced by deranged civilians).
But here I'm prepared to recognize that there are added layers of difficulty in a crowded piece of sky with lots of moving parts. So it's not all the fault of military pilots.
Air Force pilots are not enlisted. They are officers.

I live in NYC and have always taken the train down to DC when I need to visit. Think I will definitely keep doing that over flying--DC airspace seems like a total mess.
