It is beyond me. If Hillary Clinton had done anything like this, the Republicans would have been at her house with pitchforks. This is barely even registering as news, even though i'm sure it violates so many laws about national security and handling of classified info.


Plus, it’s an enormous violation of federal records law.

The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across Yemen.

I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

This is going to require some explaining.


Understatement of the century. And yet, the GOP controlled Congress will say nothing and hold no hearing, and no GOP Congressman will say anything to a camera. And we know the explanation. They think planning a military attack and planning a kegger are pretty much the same thing.

I’m old enough to remember some at the DOD having to resign because of lack of adequate transparency about Sec Def being hospitalized. Big scandal, Congressional hearings. Somehow, this clown car managed to both lack transparency (using signal for important government business) AND have too much transparency (let’s bring a reporter along for the ride). That’s quite a hat trick. I’ll bet a lot we see zero hearing and zero comments out of the GOP controlled Congress on this.

In unrelated news, Elon Musk tweeted that he had finally found and stopped the fraud, waste and abuse and SSA— SBA loans going to minors. Umm, hello, those are kids with dead parents getting Survivors Benefits. Which have apparently been stopped? I mean— give the kids with a dead parent their benefits Elmo.

But also related, because: Is anyone in this administration minimally competent at any part of governing?

In a story released Monday titled “The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans,” Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg said he was added to the group on Signal — an open-source, privacy-focused messaging app — earlier this month by someone identifying themself as Michael Waltz, President Donald Trump’s national security adviser.

The conversation — which eventually included messages from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among others — included “operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing,” according to Goldberg.
