I turned down Williams and I've always wished I could have done college twice to experience it as well.

Since then, the ratings game really took off and maybe the consistent #1 SLAC ranking for Williams has attracted a more overtly competitive type of student, but the vibe seemed pretty incredible to me. But you have to be 100% committed to going to school in a location that remote, and if you've got other great options...

Because that's essentially what it is, students on campus don't really care about Paresky-it's just a dining hall. I wouldn't even really call it unique.

For those unfamiliar with the the Paresky Center, it might be worth noting that it opened in its current form in 2007. The center offers an Adirondack-style ambiance. It replaced Baxter Hall, while retaining some of the the latter's attributes.

The Paresky Center is the beautiful student center at Williams. It's not a main dining hall.

Paresky is a pretty awesome student center - has Whitman dining hall, Lee's Snack Bar, 82 Grill, and at night the dining hall turns into SNAR - a late night snack bar until 1am. There's plenty of space for students to hang out, a big package center, and meeting rooms. It's right in the center of campus, and you walk out to beautiful mountain views. We toured a bunch of colleges and it was one of the nicest student centers we saw - kind of amazing for such a small school.
