Same! Years ago, DH and I did a deep dive in our family tree hoping for some inspiration.

Here’s a list of my DC to include my huge extended family of nieces and nephews and cousins, ages 14-25 but nearly all are from family going back to 1850s.

John
Andrew
Patrick
William
Alexander
Henry
Jonathan
Edward

Katherine
Bridget
Margaret
Anna
Eleanor
Gwendolyn
Rebecca
Eloise
Sarah
Mary

And, my nephew is John and a college senior. He has always said he was usually the only John K-12+.

I really hate when people push using family names. You know what names are in past generations of my family? Edna, Donald, Gertrude, Yetta, Hyman, Boris, etc. Some of these were great people, but their names are just names, and some names should be retired. No little baby Hymans will be had.

Not everyone’s family is full of horrible names though.

My family is also inflicted with terrible names

And most families are large enough to pick and choose. Grampa John has a name sake Grandma Gertrude does not. Though I loved her very much! Gr Grampa Morris got a middle name!
