This is impossible to answer without your travel dates. Hotel prices vary dramatically depending on the season.

It's the best but I'm no it's not $500 or less. Not during high season anyway. I love it there but you know, it's gonna cost ya.

$500 is not really a lot anymore - for hotels that is. I really think Covid was the deal breaker. After that it was just crazy travel money needed. You really have to stay somewhere truly basic for $150. Like here's a bed the room has a door that shuts and water comes from bathroom faucets. lol.

I think most places start at $350 up and just bypass $250 altogether . And any place that's more than just a room - location is great and ambiance is good - that's your $500+ a night.

It's outrageous these days. I don't know how any of us do it - incl us but we do it because life is to be lived.

Off peak is when to go for upscale and luxury hotels.

For mid scale, it’s when they are new, clean, well operated and in amazing locations.

Rush Creek Lodge, right outside of Yosemite. It was fabulous for a short trip last summer.

Salamander in DC right after the holidays. I think it was 350ish.

I don't think I've ever stayed at one for more than $150, that is our target.

Sheraton desert Oasis in Scottsdale. But that was back maybe 10 years ago. Prices at some dates are under $500 though.

It's harder and harder though to find the decent $300-400s as most increase to 500 or the cheap stay $200.

We used to book at the $1000-1300/night Caribbean paces for the family but now they are all nuts into $2300+! Ugh.

I find the true $500s places to now be in the $800s

I agree. I like the JW Marco island but I’m not spending $1200 a night for a normal room and the Hilton there looks nasty.

Timing matters. A lot of these places are literally double their normal prices for Easter and New Years.

Yes but that’s when I have time off.

So does everyone else.
