I haven’t taken my kids, but I went to Custer state park when I was 17 and loved it so much!

And I have to tell you the stuff he remembers the most is playing with his cousins and the food he ate. So food and family/playing.

I love this!

We went to Lego Land, the Zoo, La Jolla Cove to watch Sea Lions, Coronado Beach, etc. We walked the board walk, ate at some fun restaurants, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. We were there at Christmas time, so the holiday decorations were also really fun.

Great place for kids, also seems small so not a ton of time in the car

We loved Gatlinburg. Hiking the Great Smoky Mountains- we even saw some Bears. Dollywood is so underrated- its a great, clean theme park with beautiful views. Tons of affordable restaurants, hotels, activities- but you can make it more upscale if you want.

The also loved Chattanooga. So much to do there for a weekend with young kids.

Jackson Hole was fantastic - hiking, trail rides, a float trip, rafting, fishing, all in a gorgeous landscape, under a huge sky, with no humidity!

+1

The hike up Stone Mountain is great fun.

There's also a ropes course near the base of the tram.

I’ve been but not sure I would take an under 10. They aren’t old enough to be scuba certified and the dives are somewhat challenging, but Galapagos is most incredible under water out by Wolf Island.

I can’t think of any they didn’t like, but they really love/d the camping trips. Especially if there was a lake/river/beach nearby for swimming/playing.
