UGA is big but fully contained. UVA is a little more spread out with North Grounds being across 29. I don’t think there would be much of a difference getting around.

I'm the poster who replied about the NY privates and boarding schools. I think both UGA and UVA are great schools. I replied what I did because previous posters were saying that both are unknown in NYC circles. They're not--UVA is viewed in an entirely different light if you look at matriculations from many elite high schools. Perhaps this will change. I personally would love it as my kid received the UGA scholarship which will make it in-state tuition when combined with DC Tag. He is strongly considering it.

So? That's incredibly random. Back to the OP who probably doesn't care about boarding school and NYC private schools.......Let your kid pick which is a better fit for weather, school size and college town environment. The other factors are basically the same.
