This or, if after the pool, just hang up. I've never noticed any issues if we didn't rinse them out due to chlorine. I also put my sons' swim trunks in the dryer. We have swimsuits that have been worn for years 5-10 years through three boys, and they still are in great condition (and they were mostly cheapy character/Amazon suits).

No - I am finding all of this fascinating and wondering if all these people are so over the top high maintenance as to make me look laissez faire or if I missed some crucial part of an education about the importance of washing a suit

Not PP, but I have never heard this…our bathing suits seem fine after many times through the dryer.

In a hotel if you want something to hang dry, it helps a lot to roll it in a towel first. Roll it up and step on the towel for a while.
