A PP is correct that most lawmakers think they are there to pass legislation. They are there to stop a coup. They aren’t mentally equipped for that.
That is their job. They are leaving illegalities up to the courts - and the courts are doing their job, too.
I would argue at this point it’s not about policy, it’s about stopping the coups. And Democrats are expecting the courts to save them when everything will only end up at the corrupt Roberts court.
I have no issue leaving it up to the courts. And I wouldn't call it "corrupt" - just because you don't agree with many of the SCOTUS decisions doesn't make it corrupt.

We won the electoral and popular vote. You didn't. Deal with it
Even regular people who voted Trump couldn't have anticipated Trump 2.0. They just wanted to get rich the old fashioned Republican way. Don't think they are happy. They are just quiet and that's fine because they didn't go all in on MAGA merch like you might have.
They can swing the other way and no one is the wiser.
Don't get too comfy
I really feel like people who were truly paying attention could and should have anticipated what Trump was going to be like this time around. J6 should have scared everyone....it should have ended him.

There isn't a single indpendent poll that supports this assertion, and please don't cite the right wing push polls.

How could we not anticipate it? He SAID it was going to be a revenge tour of tearing down the government and everyone in the world he ever thought wronged him. Musk was by his side through the whole thing. Project 2025 was right there for us to read! Sure it's even more shocking when it's actually happening - but it's not like the guy ran on getting us good healthcare and making sure no kids were hungry.

Do they not realize we are not fighting on issue/policy alignment but on perception?
I am so frustrated with the D party.
I know Ezra Klein's column this week and his book has some buzz going: https://slate.com/culture/2025/03/abundance-ezra-klein-democrats-book-derek-thompson.html) and I appreciate him and listen to his podcast but what has stuck out to me recently is David Brooks's remarks (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/06/opinion/david-brooks-trump-power.html) that perhaps the Dem issue is they at they don't lean into their base which is not working class Americans, but actually highlight educated and intellectual Americans.
This is a message for Rep Gerry Connolly, and Sen Kaine, and Sen Warner.
Your leadership has brought this result. Thank you.
For all the times you refused to mandate e-verify to go after employers hiring illegal aliens. e-verify opposition is biparitsan for different reasons
For all the times you refused to enforce border regulations. it was Trump and the gop who killed the last 4 efforts for a border bill going back 30 years
For all the times you supported expansion of H-1B and L1 by Biden.
For all the times you supported expansion of OPT by Biden.
Thank you for expanding immigration which resulted in democrats losing , twice, and the federal work force getting cut in half. immigration is good for the country, even the 27.5 billion dollars that undocumented workers pay into social security and will never see a dime of it helps our country and that doesn't even get to the sales and other taxes they undocumented workers pay...the documented pay as much as native born people
Thank you. This could not have happened without your votes to expand immigration guaranteeing that democrats will lose elections.
Immigration was the second most important issue and democrats abandoned US citizens
