Nope. Democrats weaponized the legal system against Trump. Now both Covington & Burling and Perkins Coie staff will lose their security clearances.

Time to defang the democrat machine.

Either this is trolling/sarcasm or...

The cognitive dissonance I see lately by MAGA is just astonishing.

Filing cases that have been through the grand jury process is not weaponizing the legal system. Taking away individual lawyers' ability to practice in their area of specialty because they previously represented clients that are in the opposition political party or saying the government won't hire lawyers from certain schools is literally weaponizing the legal system.

All the law schools should keep DEI and then US attorney for DC won't have any lawyers to hire.

There is no keeping or not keeping. It's law school and thus unavoidable. It's a basic principal of law and a part of the constitution that in our giant diverse country, we have equal rights under law, discrimination is not allowed, reasonable accommodations and equal pay for equal work are the morally correct and legally required thing to do. Many people have been misled and lied to about DEI and think it is some bad form of discrimination when it is completely the opposite. Law schools know better. You cannot teach the law of the U.S. without discussing DEIA topics. It's basic and inherent in our laws.

There is no right or law guaranteeing a job offer. It is apparent that democrats are not used to being told no.

There is a right to not be retaliated against by the government because of your speech or political views. It's in the first amendment.

Lots of Trump's previous lawyers have been sanctioned or disbarred. The reason these guys think they are different is because they are idiots.

This is why MAGAs are tying to take over the DC Bar in the next bar election. All DC lawyers -- vote this time!!!!!!

If your dc bar membership has lapsed, how long does it take to reinstate and when is the election?

I’m not sure for first question. Voting opens April 15 and runs to June 4.

This is VERY important.

Please vote, even if you haven't voted ever before.

Who are the other candidates? Are they “normal” people?

Here is the slate: https://www.dcbar.org/news-events/news/nominations-committee-announces-2025-candidates-fo

Interesting lineup. A couple I recognize off the bat:

The Alden Law Group represents federal employees before MSPB, OSC, EEOC, and courts.

Louis Lopez is a former high-ranking OSC employee.

Alden has been doing amazing work for feds illegally fired.

Here is one of the statements on realtime indicating fascism:

Focus on immigration and crime aligns with nationalist priorities.

I would say that being concerned about millions of people coming across the border unvetted is not fascism. I would say it reflects common sense: who is going to feed and clothes these people?

I would say that being concerned about crime also reflects common sense, but this site cites it as a concern of nationalism adding up to fascism.
