Can anyone give a very basic rundown of your public options/magnet programs and set up? May move to Loudoun, this would be for High Schools, and possibky Middle School.

Because no one actually wants to go. It’s one elective a year in a new/not established program. Not worth changing schools for, especially given the additional travel/bus time.

I know students who accepted HamSci over AET.

They probably just want out of their zoned HS.
They are actually zoned for a school where HamSci is operating.

It's probably Briar Woods which is a very good school, one of the best high schools in Loudoun. Maybe they didn't want to deal with going to AET every other day and Briar every other day. It creates a lot of scheduling complexities -- especially over the course of four years -- and isn't for everyone.

my kid had a 280 overall, and was waitlisted.

What were your kids scores if you don't mind sharing? I am wondering what scores got in and what did not.

Couple students have gotten off the waitlist at our school after TJ deadline. So not sure if students still on the waitlist have any chance at this point.

I think the deadline was May 14th. It may take time for waitlist to move as TJ will need to notify ACL after processing all the acceptances

Any movement on the waitlist? My daughter was hoping to be accepted once TJ results came out, and it seems that they might have. She only applied for AET though, so I don't know for sure. I've heard of students being accepted to AET in late summer but it seems like that's pretty uncommon. Any info would be great, thanks.
