Last summer I realized that it was costing me $5+ dollars/ea time and I cut way back. A few weeks ago I got a mocha to share with DH after a Costco run and it was $6.88! We have a pretty fancy espresso machine and it costs somewhere around $1 to make a "fancy" coffee at home.

A couple of medium size Americanos cost us more than $10. WTF. That's highway robbery. I'm not paying those prices.

I see every girl age 15 to 65 carrying a Stanley cup everywhere. I don’t see them carrying Starbucks coffee cups.

We've also cut all discretionary spending. If it's not groceries or bills, we aren't buying it.

Same. Since the start of the year I’ve cut nearly all spending I used to give zero thought to … I want coffee I get coffee, I would like a new dress for an event I get a new dress (I’m not crazy high earner just we’re pretty solidly comfortable enough not to stress about here and there)

Now however I buy nothing discretionary. We’re not shopping at aldi bit also skipping Starbucks drive through and my usual treats

I haven't been to Starbucks in years, I make my own coffee and it's so much better.

Ok, I love this! I hate Starbucks. My DD16 loves it and she spends most of her babysitting money there. The Starbucks by her school is probably one of the higher earning stores in the area and it was mobbed when she was there this week.

My college freshman eats eggs by the carton. He will be home for spring break and I’m already working the grocery budget!
