For lover cirrhosis in such a young patient, it would be pretty rare and due to extreme binge drinking. Just really doubt that’s the case here.
Hepatitis is the more common cause of liver damage across all age groups, but especially among 30-somethings.
I don’t have the stats on ED for liver damage but I’ve known lots of anorexics and none of them died from liver damage or even had jaundice issues. Plus the weight loss she had looked like acute liver failure.

PP that mentioned Tylenol may have the right answer — Tylenol plus alcohol is a really bad combo and can definitely cause liver failure in an otherwise healthy adult.

i knew someone who died of liver failure about 30 yrs ago. She took Tylenol when she drank too much. She was a college student and had heard it was a good idea to take a few aspirin after a drinking to ward off a hangover headache and the day after ad well. But instead of aspirin she took Tylenol.

She lost a ton of weight and just felt sick all of the time so finally went to a doctor but there was nothing they could do for her. She died before she could even make it onto the list.

I don’t think I’ve taken a Tylenol since.
