The produce is ok. Haven't been impressed with anything else.

Aldi bakery items are great - won't mold in few days like Traders

I mix and match between stores. Once a month or so, I go to Safeway, Traders, or Moms and stock up on items I can only buy at those stores. Then fill in with Aldi. I have some preferences, like milk, eggs, soups, some condiments or sauce packets, pastas, beef, cereals, those things I don't buy at Aldi. Their produce often spoils fast too unless it's onions/potatoes. Their chicken, dairy (other than milk/cream), crackers, chips, dips, rice, nuts, coffees, organic olive oil are all fine.

In Tysons, both Giant and Safeway are cheaper than Wegmans. Lidl and Walmart are even cheaper than those two. We gave up on Wegmans pretty early, just too expensive even when on sale. Shop at all 4 of the others because we only buy food when it is on sale at a good price. The quality of the other 4 places are good enough for us. Mind, we have to live on a tight budget, unlike some here.

We use Giant for frozen lunches and a few things nobody else carries. Wegmans for pantry staples that are cheaper all around and a few favorite baked goods. Lidl for very good cheap produce. Lotte and H Mart for cheaper cuts of meat and excellent seafood. Safeway once in a while for clearance luxury steaks to freeze. The DMV is grocery paradise but we don’t mind chasing it in multiple different places.

I love Aldi, and I love wegmans. I am super lucky to have both of them right nearby. Like one of the other posters said, I go to Aldi first. So many things are cheaper there. I like goat cheese crumbles, they are half the price at Aldi as what they are at wegmans. Aldi is where I get my staples - cheeses, milk, bacon, eggs, meat, butter, sugar, spices, honey, maple syrup, peanut butter, etc etc.

Where my local Aldi does not excel is quickly perishable produce. I will get apples, potatoes, onions and avocados but everything else is hit or miss and it’s all pre bagged. Wegmans has a much fresher and more extensive selection of produce.

I love wegmans but the price difference compared to lidl is too big for me to justify going to wegmans. I cook seven days a week and we mainly ship at Costco ($300 every five to six weeks) and lidl (around $80 weekly) for a family of four.

I like Aldi and Lidl, they have good price and fresh products ( compare to prime delivery, Costco, Harris teeters, Walmart, and giant food, not just price but fresh products). I go to Wegmans for certain type of bread and other things.
