I could be wrong but I thought funding issues cut the new basal....I've lost track with all the issues in FCPS.
I’m not sure either. I think 7-12 is still getting something? Some elementary are piloting the Carnegie clear math basal.
Unless there is a late-announcement, 7-12 basal(s) have not been selected (there will be one selected for 6-8, Algebra-Algebra 2, and AP/post-AP courses). The school board will have to vote on it, after it is presented at the previous meeting. So it's not happening for this year.

They couldn't even be bothered to compile those materials and save people the time. It's horrific. Hopefully they won't choose something as bad as Benchmark and then insist that not only people use it, but that they don't use anything else, ever. Like, don't even supplement or enrich. FCPS is so bad.
A lot of people like Benchmark. At least there's consistency.
My family loves Benchmark. It's the teachers that complain all the time that they don't have the freedom to do their own thing. Parents think it's great - I've seen a HUGE improvement in my kids over the past year.

My kid did not make it out in time to escape FCPS using the failed Lucy Calkins “reading method” on her.
She still struggles with reading.

Nothing at the secondary level. The committees all made their recommendations, but at some point up the leadership chain (from the teacher rumor mill, it was Reed) everything got shot down. We will have a 1 year mathspace extension contract AFAIK.
I don't know about elementary.
