I totally disagree with this. Check the forecast in Paris right now- over the next few days its 50s/60s with some chance of showers. I'm in a different part of Europe right now, but similar latitude, and it's gorgeous this week. European city breaks this time of year are great, because even if it does rain some you're inevitably going be planning museums and other indoor activities anyway. And less crowded than the summer or late spring/early fall.

I think it should be one of the first parts of France you see. It is not my favorite place in the country, but somehow orienting to start there. It is pretty and has lots to see. (Expensive though, like NY)

They’re the ones who will roll your eyes when you say you want to see the Eiffel Tower in person (which is a powerful moment, by the way).

I think the only reason one would hate Paris is being caught in tourist crowds, and March will have less of that.

I don’t actually know anyone who does not like Paris. Parisians maybe but I’ll say that the last few times I have been there the people have been less brusque than on prior trips.

Yes it absolutely is. The only people who will tell you no are ones who’ve been there multiple times but there’s a reason they went multiple times. It is not overrated . It is perfectly rated. It is a must to see in your lifetime.

We are in Paris now having a fabulous time. Beautiful architecture, fantastic museums, good food and coffee. Easy to get around on the metro.

Paris is always a reflection of the person visiting.

The people saying Marseille is a skip are (understandably) very off base. It’s the current epicenter of what’s cool in France. That may very well not be your scene, but it’s a fascinating creative hub with incredible young energy. This is particularly enjoyable in its food scene which, as a refreshing juxtaposition to Paris or the rest of France, is filled with fast moving new concepts with young chefs. This is made possible because it’s a dirt cheap city.

Goudes, a Marseille suburb, is a quirky 9/10 and way under the radar. Plus it’s the north side gate to the Calanques.

Go to Paris though - start drinking at late lunches and walk everywhere. Make well researched dinner reservations in advance.

Why? We are going this summer (if things don’t get totally crazy by then).

My family traveled to Paris last Dec/Jan. Admittedly stayed in touristy area and frequented touristy spots. We had an amazing time and went with very low expectations. I went a few weeks later for work trip and stayed in a not so touristy area. Ubers kept getting canceled, restaurants were rude, same with hotel. Total different experience. I still would go back because first trip was amazing!
