If you think full pay students at top city private schools don’t look down on Stuy and Bronx Science and make socioeconomically condescending remarks then you are woefully unaware of what goes on there.

Stuy is known for being better at STEM compared to TT private school. In addition, it is more difficult to get into a top college coming from a TT private school. NYC has a way of humbling people due to the competitive nature of fighting for limited resources.

It is more difficult to get into a top college from a TT private because they don’t grade inflate and your peers are smarter so worse curve. Lots of dolts at Stuy being carted off to SUNY Whatever

Yes but students at those all boys schools don’t care what some poors at Booker think. That’s the point. Yet posters here are very interested in the thoughts of a 40-something HM alum

Why have you guys decided to highjack this thread?! I swear there should be a “I’ll argue anyone for free” subthread on these forums.

Yeah, this is the post that finally convinced me you have no affiliation with either school and are just here to needle people.

Ignore the pathetic troll. Let's move on. Don't give the baby their bottle - they want attention.

Well who the hell would want their kid to go to a school dominated by those people? Even if I had Hamptons money I’d rather my children grow up around normal human beings; if they have contempt for Stuy kids I expect Stuy kids have just as much contempt for them.

Hah, tell that to like 90% of NYC parents dude

99% of NYC parents have zero chance at Trinity or HM, yet according to you 90% think they have a shot at $hit. What does that tell you about relative quality?

Holy low class ignorance. This post is so dumb in so many ways. You think you are so smart and tough but you are just advertising your stupidity. I'm guessing you couldn't find Trinity, HM or Stuy on a map. Posting mean things about a school you or your kids can't get into from your mom's basement in Plattsburgh is really sad.

Not everyone who criticizes the $hat Myself schools is from upstate. Dream on.

Sorry. Mom's basement in Hicksville. Same difference.

You really think anyone from Hicksville posts here? You really think the average full pay student at Riverdale would ever consider Stuy or hold it in high regard? Dream on.

Does it make you feel important to bash schools? What do you get out of that. And yes, I do know plenty of people who turned down top tier privates for Stuy and Bronx Science. And for many people, those top privates are not a realistic possibility. So why do you need to insult them. Anyone who actually went to one of these schools would have enough class not to insult other schools, particularly not top public schools. So you are making it painfully obvious that you are in no way associated with any top public or private school.

Act like you've been there before. Show class. Show humility.

Your mom is calling. Time to go to bed.

Poor people turn down HM for Stuy.

If you think full pay students at top city private schools don’t look down on Stuy and Bronx Science and make socioeconomically condescending remarks then you are woefully unaware of what goes on there.

Again - you have no class or self-awareness. What are you proving by making these comments. Yes, there are plenty of people who do this, but the way you brought it up was completely inappropriate and shows that you are clearly not affiliated with any of these schools. Even in an anonymous forum someone from those schools would not make comments like you did in the tone you used.

I'm not sure why I am wasting my time.

I went to HM and my son goes to one of the schools mentioned. If you think they don’t speak this way as teenagers then you’re delusional. They don’t want to be around Stuy kids and have contempt for them. This carries onto the college, they will not be in the same fraternities or go to the same vacation spots.

You are moving the goal posts. You initiated this ridiculous discussion by saying that SHSAT schools are not a good outcome. That is absolutely ridiculous. Now you are backtracking.

And again, I highly doubt you went to HM. I know tons of HM people and even in a private forum they would never say something like that. You can think your school is "better" than other schools without bad mouthing those schools, particularly recognizing that for most people, TT privates are not even an option.

If you went to HM, then you are really embarrassing HM. Because your initial posts were childish, nasty and rude and your inability to construct a consistent, logical argument is below what HM teaches (though there are plenty of morons who graduated from HM). Your complete lack of decency and self-awareness is pathetic.

I went to a TT private in another city, but my Harvard blocking group had one girl from Stuy and one from HM and they got along fine; in general the group was half private and half public and nobody had a particular attitude about it.

There definitely were a few fancy private school kids who only hung out with other fancy people at final clubs or whatever but even most of the private school kids wouldn’t have been welcome with those guys.
