Effectively he is. Tell me, what is is about his character or behavior that says “I’m a Christian!”?
He acts like a lot of “Christians” I know.
That…doesn’t say much.
Being a Christian doesn’t mean being a good person being a Christian means you’re hoping being a **** person. Your whole life is saved eventually by some God in the sky, who is all loving.
Quite the opposite.
Nope all you have to do is accept Jesus as your savior and you will be saved. You don’t even have to do one kind act.

And I really believe you can’t be happy without religion, without that belief. I really believe it. I just don’t see how you can be. (Applause.)
So, let’s bring religion back. Let’s bring God back into our lives.
Thank you all very much. Thank you very much. Great honor. Thank you. (Applause.)”

Just because I don't believe in your god doesn't mean that I don't live by a code of morals and have a good sense of what is right and wrong. Atheist does not mean immoral, racist, jerk. Trump was born and raised a Christian and I take that at face value. He's not a very good Christian, but he is one.
As an atheist, and by extension a materialist, you have no transcendent basis to ground your morality, only yourself. Van Til showed why this is insufficient, so atheists/materialists need to borrow values from Christianity to make sense of their inherent moral beliefs.

How does OP know that, when Trump shows no evidence of having a relationship with Jesus Christ?
He shows more evidence that he’s a Christian than that he’s an atheist.
Oh, like wiping out aid to poor people all over the world so he can make Musk a trillionaire with tax cuts? You need to have your head examined. He hasn’t started putting people in gas chambers yet but he’s every bit as bad as Hitler. Look how he has divided this country.
