That's true, ours wasn't the best. But I was my kids tutor and it worked out for us.
They can go to public school and be locked out of the bathrooms all day and witness (or be the victim of) frequent fights at my local middle school. Some parents pay for private just for basic safety and humane conditions for their kids.
Private schools have the same problems. You just don't hear about it because they don't have to legally disclose.
COPE harder.
I went to private school and my kids are in private school. I can assure you any school I would consider would not have fights or any other similar behavior.

Needing to work for a living is "close to the edge," now? Wild.
"A living" = food and shelter. It does not and never has equaled "right to private education for your children."

No, not at all. This is a bad time for our kids to mingle with the lower class.
Also, public school will get worse after this administration gets rid of the department of education.

this!
we have money set aside so that no matter what happens to us financially our kids won’t be impacted. It’s CRAZY to have your kids in a school that depends on your employment.
I mean, is it crazy to have bought a house based on employment? People make choices based on the most likely future scenario. You have no idea why her kids are in private
You need a house to live in, and it is presumed to be an appreciating asset. Private school is a luxury.

crazy to buy one you can’t afford if your income drops. Yes. we are talking WEALTHY people who have managed to over shoot their load. We aren’t talking about the average middle class american just trying to survive. If you are wealthy enough to afford private school, but can’t afford it with a job loss you have ZERO business putting your kids in private school in the first place. You are playing in a league you don’t belong in.
You shouldn’t put your kids in private school if you aren’t smart enough or capable of setting money aside as to not disrupt their lives.

Actually, yes, it is crazy to put yourself hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt (or more) with the hope that you will always be gainfully employed for the next 30 years.
This is the blind spot of the “never pay off your mortgage” people—it’s survivorship bias.
Or maybe they don’t have the cash to pay off a house in the DMV?
Even then, they should not pay off house. Keep the money OUT of the house. It’s called liquidity.
