OP - hello from Vienna. I’m the biggest baby in the world and put off getting my first colonoscopy until I was 53! And, I have 2x family history - my GP was so low-key frustrated to exasperated with my non-compliance that she had the scheduler from Dr. Trevino’s office call ME!

Pro tip: ask for Su-Tab! I am very small-framed (with osteoporosis) and have always struggled with nausea from hunger/fasting and/or vomiting from drinking/eating too much …I am a sensitive soul. The thought of downing gallons of the prep (as I watched my DH do) increased my anxiety and honestly made me delay this procedure.

A friend advised SuTab and now I tell everyone the same - if I can do it, you can do it!

Is this within a calendar year or what? I got cologuard about a year ago before I realized it was a scam. I didn't look up my results. I suppose I'll get a colonoscopy next but only if insurance pays.

It’s not a scam. You should certainly look at your results. False positives are much more of a thing than false negatives. Being in the clear is good information.

His office kind of sucks, but HE is great. Two of my other docs go to him. I tend to trust docs other docs use. Once you're a patient and on the portal etc, it's much easier to get through to the office.

What happened?

A series of things. His demeanor is that of a doctor with good bedside manner but he was uninformative. I was dxed with a rare disease via endoscopy. He asked me to come to his office in follow-up. I drove there, he gave me the dx, told me to go to an allergist and take a couple of drugs. That's it. I did that but b/c he didn't explain multiple nuances (can't eat or drink 30 min before or after drug) I got a pill stuck in my esophagus which had to be ER-removed. Went to that doctor for follow-up. He did a detailed physical (Prosky didn't touch me). Opened a text book, explained what was going on. Opened treatment guidelines on his computer and, in detail, explained HOW to use the drugs so they worked. That's when I realized Protsky sucked like a pickled prostate.

Don't rule out male doctors if you want to be seen sooner.

Another reason to use Cologuard; if results are positive, then a booked up doctor may move you to urgent status and see you sooner.
