DC area has the worst panic buyers. This is my guess why stores are running out. I’m from a northern state that regularly gets dumped on with snow. Never before had a witnessed the extreme panic buying that happens in DC before a few inches of snow is due. The bread, milk, and TP will be totally gone from all stores. It’s insane. This is probably why eggs seem scarce, but they aren’t.

It’s bc a massive supplier in Georgia that usually distributes to our area had to be quarantined and many wiped out, plus another one in Lehigh valley, plus an insane amount of eggs were stolen in central Pa from a distributor - like 40,000 eggs or something like that. So there is a sudden shortage in this area.
I’m pretty sure the egg robber plans to sell eggs in the streets - but where does one store that many eggs?

And what are you doing with them? How many eggs do you people eat that this is such a problem?

uh, $3.69 a dozen at my Giant. I just went and confirmed.

2.99 at Trader Joe’s. Maybe you all are shopping at the wrong stores

My Trader Joe’s has been out of eggs for weeks. They probably have some right at opening, but I haven’t been lucky enough to get any. They have also been out of the hardboiled ones in a bag.

Must be regional. I’m in Midwest and go a couple times per week. They are never out

Wild when Biden was in apparently eggs were $22 each in the Midwest.
