I've been to both. Multiple times for PR. Portugal's food is better, hands down.

Saying that Puerto Rico has better restaurants than Portugal shows your ignorance.


Or perhaps yours. How much time have you spent in Puerto Rico outside of all-inclusives or similar (which are known for mediocre food world wide.)


I was born in Puerto Rico, lived there until I was through culinary school and moved straight to Portugal where I am now an internally-renowned food critic.

I have to disagree. Puerto Rican food is very heavy and uninteresting.

Another vote for Portugal. Go to Porto, do a wine-tasting trip on the Douro, find a local place to hear fado music, visit one of the port lodges. Lisbon and Sintra are great, too.

I'm Portuguese (from the mainland) so I'm biased...but I'll throw out another option....the Azores!

Went there for a wedding and came back wishing I had family there so I could justify visiting more often.

Portugal! No contest! We went from Porto, took a trip to the Belearic Islands and then to Obidos and then to Sintra. Do not miss Sintra. Then, stop by Cascais on the train then to Lisbon. Transportation is super easy. We stayed in Lisbon for 3 days and then took a train to Spain. Best trip of my life. Good food, friendly people and beautiful scenery. I want to live there!!
