Almond mom checked in. Now, who’s going to post that potatoes are low class and it’s trashy to eat them?
Buying a shrink wrapped potato and microwaving it IS pretty low class

Anonymous wrote:Not instacart, but had a doordasher open up a container of 2 samosas and eat one of them. I kind of don't blame the person, because they are delicious.

Nah.
Here is the worst case, fully loaded large baked potato:
One large russet potato: 290 calories
1 T. Butter: 100 calories
2 T. Sour cream: 57 calories
1/2 oz. Cheese: 58 calories
Bacon crumbles equiv. To 1 piece: 43 calories
Chives: 1 calorie
Total: 549 calories
Add a side of streamed broccoli and you are up to 600 calories. 600 calories is not too much for one meal by any stretch.
Whole potatoes are not the problem. Americans are fat because they drink empty calories and eat tons of processed and fried foods. A whole baked potato is actually pretty harmless.
OP here. I use non fat Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and "I Can't Believe It's not Butter Spray" zero calories. Most of my meals are around 400 calories.
It's just once a week. It satisfies my craving for a potato 🥔 better than 🍟🍟🍟 French fries.
Anonymous wrote:I order those shrinkwrapped individual baked potatoes one a week because they are large. I microwave it with broccoli and cheddar cheese for a meal. I sometimes buy the shrinkwrapped sweet potato.
I actually never priced a 3 or 5 pound bag of potatoes before. I had no idea my one potato 🥔🥔🥔🥔 was so expensive.

2. The box of kitchen trash bags was opened and the delivery shopper took a few trash bags.
For all the deliveries I have had during COVID and when my car was in the shop, two times isn't that bad.
How about you? I didn't report it.
Times are tough. If people are stealing in this manner - a few potatoes from a 3 lb bag or a few trash bags - I don't have a problem. I actually allow my weekly house cleaner to help herself to trash bags, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, detergent, fruits, rice, frozen foods, windex etc for her own use. I buy from Costco and in large quantities.

Are you talking about where you buy one shrink-wrapped russet potato? First time I ever saw that in a store my jaw dropped to the floor. Right about the time I saw a "Gluten Free!" sign on the cabbage bin (yes, really).
You know, all you do is take a russet potato, stab it with a fork a few times, and nuke it. 5-7 minutes usually does it. And he was probably right about the price. And most stores have bins where you can buy just one potato if you want.
Ok I just opened my grocery app, and the only two options for whole organic sweet potatoes is a 3 lb bag for $4.69 or a single one with a sticker labeled “microwaveable” on it for $1.79, tho I don’t think it’s shrink wrapped. This didn’t used to be the case. I don’t like the bags because the sweet potatoes that come in the bags are always very skinny and stringy, which my toddler will not eat. NP
Fix your toddler.
