I don’t think abortion is a losing cause. Most people are pro abortion, especially when their kid needs one. I think the most damage was done by the woke stuff.

They can read Peggy Noonan's article and Michael Bloomberg's articles in today's WSJ. It tells them exactly what to do, particularly Bloomberg. They will not do it because the Democrats are stuck in the past and have not recognized the realities of the 21st Century. I became an independent after the DNC allowed Hillary Clinton to blackmail them again into letting her run for the presidency. She started the debacle of Trump/Biden/Trump. Until the Democrats face the reality and stop relying on the minorities that moved toward Trump, they are hopeless.

This is harshly worded but probably somewhat consistent with how most people feel. Mind your own business, right? But, this sentiment cuts in favor of abortion rights, which poll very well and have broad support. Dems shouldn’t let republicans wrap trans issues up with reproductive rights. The dems got the abortion issue right. They need to figure out how to communicate their position other issues.
Communicating to the people is what good leaders do best. An unlikable elderly person is not the right person for the job when you need leadership. Once the party's next legitimate leader steps up, problems with messaging and communicating positions will go away.

The bolded part - I hear this so often - about liberal elitists who can’t relate to them. And then they vote for…Trump? An actual silver spoon baby who lives in a golden tower/golden country club? I don’t think he was once seen interacting with a middle/lower class person prior to bursting into politics. I can’t think of a less relatable person. Why isn’t he accused of being an elitist nearly as much as democrats who came from a more modest background and worked hard to get where they are?
You did not say whether you ever voted for him. Either way, perhaps you can share some perspective on this?
and here’s where the media bubble really hurts Ds. I HATE Trump like never before (I am a fed) but you really do need to listen to his rallies and interviews to understand that he does have a kind of folksy appeal (albeit obnoxious in tone). Between him and Kamala, his demeanor and words are much less elite. Try turning your instinctive reaction off and listen to an entire speech, not just whatever newsclip is circulated.
