If I was OP I'm would have eaten them and not given it a second thought.

I wouldn't either. When OP first posted I thought the person lived close by. I get things misdelivered for a neighbor who has the same street number as me. I just drop them off at their house. But they are within walking distance. This is a whole different scenario. I would have notified Insomnia and eaten the cookies.

OP’s response made me laugh. Thanks for that OP. I think once insomnia said they’d take care of it, you could eat the cookies.

I did try to call them and it turns out the phone number was not for the recipient s, but for the insomnia cookies place. I told them what happened and they said they'd take care of it. I don't know what that means.
The recipients email address was also on the receipt so I sent them an email to tell them that they need to call insomnia cookies to.sort this out and I will be eating the cookies.
This whole thing has just been a huge pain.

Have them for dessert after you eat the ham.

You should eat one and then say, "Oops, I dug in before realizing they weren't meant for me."

With all the tragedies in DC lately, I’d assume someone sent them to cheer that person up, and they aren’t answering because they’re dealing with losing their job (or worse).

Then on top of that, someone emails them “I’m eating your cookies”.

That’s messed up.

Some time after we bought a house from a woman we received a box from a company filled with chocolate covered nuts in different packages. I didn’t know where the precious owner moved to but figured she made a bundle from her sale. I really enjoyed those chocolate nuts!

OP, since you are eating them, tub have to tell us what flavor they are. Hopefully you didn’t waste all this hassle on bland sugar cookies.

I would CALL 📞 them directly if they do not answer your text.

Yes it can be mighty tempting to eat one of the cookies 🍪 - but I would not out of respect.

Instead head over to your local 7-11 (or other convenience store) and buy yourself some sweets.

You lost my respect, OP. You can't drive 16 minutes, you can't abide some rain, you told a random neighbor you were eating their cookies. And you think this has been a huge pain for YOU????????

I hope you just made this all up, because if this actually happened in real life, you're a very poor excuse for a human being.

Op was being tempted by forces of unnatural strength. I'd say she showed a lot of courage and there is no shame in her defeat. Time can wear any brave soldier down.

Whoa, a whole eight minutes EACH way? And you'd have to travel there in the RAIN, while cocooned and warm in your car. Yeah, I hope multiple birds crap on your head. You are a crappy person.

I hope those birds are vultures. Their poop and puke smells vile!
