Thank you, PP.
Lovely thread over here:

This non "buyout" really seems to have backfired
My favorite, among many:
I swore an oath to the American people god---n it, I intend to fully uphold that until my dying breath. I serve the American people, the Veterans, and all those who came before me to perform the same duties as I; I serve the American ideal and the nation that I love, there's no way I'm backing down. Hell, I don't even care if I get furloughed during a shutdown, I have my CDL and I can always make ends meet.
F--- this administration and their draconian scare tactics, I'm not afraid of these losers because I serve for something higher than myself.

Now I consider part of my mission to do my job well and not leave, just to piss Musk off. It's personal.
I will never buy any products/service associated with Musk for rest of my life, no Tesla, nothing.

Considering 70 percent remote workers have a second job this is the reason they want you back.
In October, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 1,250 full-time remote workers in the U.S.

Agree. Something went awry and it’s not a coincidence it happened as soon as these jokers took charge.

Some feds are being dramatic but this isn't a real buyout. It's literally offering to pay your current salary and guaranteeing nothing except you avoid going to the office.
It paid admin leave for 8 months, a lot of private sector folks never get anything close to this.

I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that --
A. OATH OF OFFICE
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental
reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on
which I am about to enter. So help me God.
B. AFFIDAVIT AS TO STRIKING AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
I am not participating in any strike against the Government of the United States or any agency thereof,
and I will not so participate while an employee of the Government of the United States or any agency
thereof.
C. AFFIDAVIT AS TO THE PURCHASE AND SALE OF OFFICE
I have not, nor has anyone acting in my behalf, given, transferred, promised or paid any consideration for
or in expectation or hope of receiving assistance in securing this appointment.
I'm not striking. I'm also not leaving. I'm going to do my job as well as I have, to the best of my abilities, and will have to be dragged away from it with legal force, if he wants.
Just to piss him off, in particular. One more little thorn in his side.
f him.
I’m sure it’s naive but I sort of hope that all these attacks on us will ultimately reveal exactly what we do for the American people that they take for granted on a daily basis.
It’s easy to think we are lazy and “do nothing” because when we do our jobs well people’s lives plug along without hiccups. Nobody really stops and notices when their drinking water is clean or their medicines aren’t counterfeit or their SS checks get auto deposited on time or their plane lands safely or health research is being done behind the scenes, etc.
This country has become entitled to all these things, but doesn’t think they should have to compensate anyone for it any way. Maybe it’s time feds get more appreciation.

Life outside the Beltway is not, put it this way, focused on supporting the Federal workforce.
