OP unfortunately they’ll have to get insurance on the open market and it’s going to be expensive.
NP,
But this is exactly what triggers people. The right is dividing us by insisting that so many "illegals" come here for "free care". It's inflammatory and they make blanket statements about ER rooms being full of illegals.
Then the rest of us look at the data and it's not supporting that, but someone does have to pay for that care, however large or small it is. Once everyone has calmed down, we get the anecdote like this one poster asking about benefits for one elderly person and it sets everyone off again.
Leaving the inflammatory comments aside, a 76 year old is going to have higher health care costs, whether it be today or in a a few years. Why do we (collective we) need to pay for that?

But don't be flying back and forth to wherever multiple times per year and claiming they are poor, okay?

You’re not. Never did and never will. Please educate yourself before spewing hate.
Tax payers fund Medicare. the individual didn’t pay into the pool. So why would the pool pay for a non participant?
In your effort to get your hot take off, you’re making yourself look hateful.

Not eligible. My own mother is a green card holder and since she never worked in the US she couldn’t get Medicare.
Was she married to your father or someone who has a work history in the US? Can't a green card holder get Medicare through spouse's work history?
