Nursing homes, hospitals, schools, colleges, research institutes, states, all rely on these grants. Tens of millions of jobs. It’s going to get real bad real fast.
I hope every grantee calls their Senators and Representatives tomorrow and lights up their phone lines complaining. This will impact people in every single state.
Except that the blue states and blue regions of red states will do this. Or will the others finally join?!

The memo says the agency reviews are not due to OMB until February 10, so I don't think this is going to get resolved anytime soon. This is going to inflict enormous pain not just on the recipients of the services that these grants fund, but also on those who work to administer and deliver these programs, most of whom are modestly paid and working for organizations that can't bankroll more than a couple of weeks of pay, if that. What a cruel and inhumane way to cut back on spending. American should be ashamed of itself. We are the laughing stock of the democratized western world.

The memo says they will even cease disbursement of federal funds under current grant awards. How can Trump inflict so much damage with one stroke of the pen? Where are the checks and balances? This is a horror show!
