From the article, it was twelve (so far): “ Oversight of some of the government’s largest agencies was affected: the departments of Defense, State, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Energy, Commerce and Agriculture, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, Small Business Administration and the Social Security Administration.”

Most likely they are out the door until and unless there is a legal injunction, but a closer read of the article or a better understanding of federal employment protections than I have may suggest otherwise.

Thank you!

He did it in his first term as well. I don’t remember any penalties for that.

We tried. The DNC messaging on this threat (well, on most issues) was lamentably bad. It should have been relentless and clear since 2016.

Teach your kids and, if needed, your friends, about authoritarians of history and how he fits the pattern.

Read the article. The problem is that firing them without 30 days notice to Congress and specific reasons for doing so violates federal law.

Bending the knee and following orders unquestioningly even if they break a dozen laws and violate norms standards and human decency is the only "merit" this administration cares about.

There's now data point after data point after data point. Yet the resident DCUM "conservatives" dishonestly feign eyerolling and say "oh pshh you're being hysterical." I put conservatives in quotes because you have completely lost any and all grounding in what conservatism stood for and are now nothing but a clownish caricature without any morals or standards or values.

What was the cause?

Ask HR

If only there were some law requiring the president to publicly state the cause…
