Are you new here? DC doesn't enforce any laws at all unless they can be done via traffic camera.

It's going to be 53 on Monday, OP. Maybe lighten up and walk around that icy patch.

Pro tip: If you see snow or ice and it looks slippery, you don't have to walk on it. You can go around it.

Can we report people who leave their bikes and e-bikes and scooters in the middle of sidewalks?

It's called "ice melt." You've never heard of it? It... melts ice. Amazing! Like a miracle!

Ice melt is expensive. You sound privileged.

You own a home but can't spend $20 for a big bag of salt or ice melt?

Maybe start driving less and walking more. You'll get some exercise, save on gas, and gain some empathy for people who utilize sidewalks.

OP here. I'm signed up with my local to help shovel for elderly people.

If someone's truly incapable, there are abundant services to help and assist the disabled and the elderly. But mostly... people who don't shovel/salt are lazy AF and refuse to make their own arrangements. I give no F's for those nasty neighbors.

So how many sidewalks have you shoveled for other people who couldn’t do it themselves?

In the first snowstorm this year, I shoveled in front of 9 homes. How many did you do? Did you even try?

The people who don't clear their sidewalks (other than the truly disabled and elderly) are lazy people who drive everywhere, and are probably very out of shape.

Get some exercise and go for a walk once in a while, and you'll realize just how important having clear sidewalks is.

These products don’t work under 15 degrees, which is part of the problem this week. Further, the way this last storm came through, there was a very small window of time to remove the snow/sleet before it turned into a solid sheet of ice that couldn’t be shoveled or salt melted. It’s warming up now so hopefully this will all be resolved in a day or two.

Unpopular opinion: if you’re too old to shovel your sidewalk, you should be living in a nursing home not a SFH

Not everyone would know to call and more than elderly need help.

He’s the snowman now too huh? That landlord is living rent free in your mind. You invoked him on a post that is no way connected to him. Going to be a long 12 years for you, get your self checked out now and get help.

Sidewalk is the city or county's area. But homeowners are required to shovel or de-ice? Is the city providing homeowners with a shovel, salt, de icer whatever is needed? If homeowner is shoveling and is injured, then?

Where in the world did you grow up?? Shoving your sidewalks is simply part of being a civilized human being.

You are correct sir. I DGAF about you. Report away.

+1, same. Report away.

BTW, complaints are public record. Its easy to find out who reported you. We identified a neighbor who made frivolous complaints about our dog.
