Ditto. No window treatments at all. Couldn't care less if people look in.

Because they stare. It seems like my neighbors spend hours looking at the windows watching what we do. If we go outside, they are at the windows staring. If we are inside, they will stare from their window in to ours.
I am the OP and that resonates with me. It's almost like they want to be intimidating by keeping all their curtains open so we can see through their windows day and night and they are always staring outside it's so weird. I don't understand it being an immigrant then again my parents were never strivers. Too down to earth to be.

Anonymous wrote:What is the correlation between immigrants and their window treatment choices? How about men and women, do men not have curtains or blinds or other window treatments and women do? Is it a connection between short people and tall people, fat and short? By race? Vegetarian vs non? By hair color? Whether they have a dog or not as someone pointed out dog can get amused. It could be a host of reasons.

The big one without is my kitchen window, which faces my back alley/back neighbors backyard. Sometimes when I’m washing dishes I see the woman across the street also washing dishes. They’re quite a ways away so it’s not like you can really make anything out. I guess it never really bothered me lol. I’m white and Dh is a second gen since that apparently matters.
Anonymous wrote:So I am a second generation immigrant but My family who was first generation always used blinds or window coverings but we have neighbors who are first generation and they never cover their windows. At night you can clearly see them looking out the windows or what they are doing. So all day their windows are always open without covers. I don't think I have seen any other neighbors that are this way and the only reason why it's weird to me is because I can catch them looking out their window and feel their gaze. Weird or no?
