In fact, Gavin Newsom didn't even prepare for them and he was told in 2018 to fix problems.
you can't "fix" getting ready for wildfires unless you are prepared to retrofit every structure in the danger areas.
how do you "fix" getting ready for hurricanes? should we keep rebuilding in the coastal areas that get wiped out ever 10 years too?
Why did Barack and Michelle build their compound on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean?

He doesn't even care about his own kids.

I live in a blue state and the amount of “I don’t like Trump but…” comments I have heard are insane.
I know maybe three who think that and they are in the billionaire category. Everyone else - not secretly happy.

No, you are wrong. I am not secretly happy he won. He has changed American for the worst. We used to support each other when one state had a natural disaster. Now he makes fun of them and there is a quid pro quo if you want aid.
Have you observed the last four years? Trump has changed America for the worse?
The fire in Lahaina, Hawaii? The train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio? Hurricanes Milton and Helene on the East coast? The fires in California?
What support are you talking about? The Biden administration has been a disaster in the last four years of natural disasters.
Unbelievable.
Donald Trump will care for the people of this country much more than the last administration. That's a fact.

They won’t though. I think most Harris voters are waiting for this but it’s never going to come. All the Trumpers I know are reasonably kind and intelligent normal people. I talk to a lot of them about their views. Due to the indoctrination they’ve gotten they are capable of the most insane mental gymnastics and cannot change. If things get worse for them, they will never blame Trump. It will be because Trump wasn’t allowed to undo everything Biden did, or because the Democrats in Congress wouldn’t let him, or because of some factor beyond Trump’s control.

What is protesting going to do? change Speaker Johnson's mind? Leader Thune's mind? Elon's mind?

I imagine they'll all boil alive as the temp keeps rising around them.
News Flash:
Right now yet another actual fire just N of LA.
So far 5,000 acres burnt to a crisp.
You Democrats are the ones crashing and burning.
Even the anti-Donald Trump graffiti on the streets of West Hollywood is scarce and halfhearted now. Eight years ago, California was the “resistance” state. It is a different mood that a visitor encounters in 2025: resignation, boredom with the subject, a we-had-it-coming attitude among thoughtful Democrats and, at times, something approaching curiosity about the economic potential of America under a deregulating president.
A great liberal shrug is going on. It has been happening around the world since Trump clinched his win in November, and it is natural. You can’t be angry all the time. In the autocracies of 20th-century Europe, people of dissenting conscience often made what was known as an “inner migration”. That is, rather than flee or fight, they withdrew into private life as the political realm darkened around them. To detach like this is clever, not weak.
Just don’t overdo it, that’s all. I sense that liberals have allowed a healthy acceptance of electoral reality to cross into a hope that Trump’s second term won’t be so bad. Please.

There were massive wildfires during the Trump admin also? Every president deals with natural disasters
