It’s not your place to tell other people what to do. Each family needs to do what works for them.

No. Everyone does their own laundry. I did do his for a while but he just randomly started doing his own and it just stuck.

I’m really good in bed and a great cook. And I wash the sheets and do the dishes .
He has to wash his own socks, though.

How much energy is wasted by all these separate washes? Do people do several small loads of white things rather than one big one?

Yes, I thrown in all the laundry. We all share in folding and putting away but mainly as my health has gotten bad. Otherwise I would.

We both work FT but do shift work. I’m off today. I do all the laundry in the house EXCEPT my spouses. My own, my child’s, the sheets, towels, kitchen towels. Dog bed covers,

Yes I do all laundry. If I’m backed up he might ask when I expect to do the next load and throw a load in if there’s something he needs washed before I plan to get to it (like if he will be traveling and needs/wants certain items clean). He has a ton of clothes though so that is pretty rare.

He handles the cars. Registration, inspection, insurances, washing, maintenance. I’m surprised other SAHMs do this. I honestly wouldn’t really know where to begin.

Yes, but I do laundry every 4 days (when our child needs clothes) so if he’s expecting me to do laundry more often, then he needs to do it himself. When I’m in a pinch and I can’t fold the clothes, he folds them no questions asked. He actually likes to do laundry, just doesn’t have the time.

We have four kids, and I do all of the sheets and bath mats and things, so I still do multiple loads of laundry every day.

Make your kids fold laundry. That's the chore that I start all my kids on at 5. They fold socks, sort underwear and put things back in people's drawers (NOT just put things on people's beds). They also can fold dish towels. At 7/8 they move on to dishwasher duty.

DH and I have "spheres" and don't like to mix chores. So if I do laundry, I'm going to do all of it, if I do our finances, I'm going to do all of it. If I cook dinner, I'm going to clean up after too. (I HATED cleaning up after dh cooking dinner, so he has to clean up his own 10000 pans that he cooks with).

I think it's weird that you'd do laundry and just not do his? Besides, isn't gym clothes the absolute easiest? I wash and then just shove it all in the large drawer. Folding spandex didn't work anyways. My 5 year old's chore is folding socks so I make him fold all of those. The only thing easier than gym clothes are towels. I wash them, dry them, and then immediately they go back on everyone's hook in their bathroom.

Our laundry is intermingled so yes, I do DH's laundry.

However I feel like we do laundry on a continual basis and he pitches in with laundry on the weekends so he also does my laundry, though not as often because he's not at home as much.

I particularly stay on top of work out clothes because I like those to go into the wash quickly or they start to stink. I schedule our laundry loads around our workout schedules so that they never sit in the hamper more than a day and we always do laundry after our sweatiest workouts of the week (weekend bike rides for DH, tennis for me).
