+1. My boy applied RD.

+1
But if this is typically the case at other Top schools in other years....? Can anyone comment?

Thousands more female applications than male? No, that’s just Brown. Yale skews female, too, but nothing like Brown.

I have a daughter who applied to both, and didn't realize the relatively skew
But I meant that if colleges are extending deadlines, is that a good sign for those who applied on time in terms of admission chances

No. The extension is for special circumstances.

Schools have done this for years for students from natural disaster areas. My kid's year, many schools offered extensions to kids in some hurricane zones.

Anyone have a guess as to why Brown would be more attractive to females than males? My boys both liked Brown, though we didn't visit any other Ivies.

Historically open curriculum. No business school etc. Leaned progressive. Old post on here on this topic. Search.

Last year

Brown
19,666 male (846)
31,550 female (849)

Yale
22,003 male (788)
29,699 female (853)

I have a non-artsy son at Brown, visited all except Dartmouth. Yale and Brown were favorites. Speculating maybe less pre-prof, not big Greek life, and community vibe appeals to females (and males).

There’s plenty already in Brown’s next class
