Apparently one of the teachers pushed a disabled teacher on the floor and cussed at him. Many students saw it (including my son) and were disturbed by it. I don't want to name names, but the teacher/coach that pushed the disabled teacher to the floor is still working. My son thought for sure he would be disciplined, not back the next day of school.
This is hilarious. Kids don't even get disciplined anymore. You think the teachers will?
They probably had a productive Restorative Justice circle and that's why the teacher was allowed back! Maybe the admin also gave him a snack and had him do a think sheet.
Oh, we’re not even supposed to do a think sheet anymore. That could cause the child to dislike writing. Directive at my school. 🤦🏻♀️
How about laps at recess, then?
If an FCPS elementary principal gets convicted of shoplifting in Target, she gets awarded with a promotion to an AP (in charge of the special education dept) at a high school!
Think about that!
I’d fully expect to be fired (or I’d resign) from my local government job for such a charge.

Yes. I would hope so.
Now, you will get to see the teacher's union in action........
Very few teachers are part of the union.
There is not a current functioning teacher’s union. Some teachers were members of FCFT or FEA but those were not unions in the (usually negative) sense y’all traditionally mean. The new, actual union is still being fashioned and has zero members.
Teachers are still members of FEA and FCFT. No new union is being formed. FEA and FCFT worked together as one bargaining team under FEU (Fairfax Education Unions).
… and the FEA AND FCFT as they exist today are not unions. Glad we cleared this up.

Did your child see the fight from the beginning? And before we start in true DCum style....I;m not excusing anything just asking if we have the whole story.
What could possibly be an acceptable catalyst for intentionally knocking down a disabled person?
DP....the point is this could have been a lot more. There is never an excuse to knock down any other human(disabled or not)....but we don't know what was said so the question was did your child witness the entire interaction? Admin could have found out that both sides were abusive and took care of the problem with HR. I know FCPS parents think they know it all but they don't. We also know everyone wants to talk about Lewis because they are afraid of boundary changes so I think it's ok that a question was asked for the story from beginning to end.
Again... There is nothing that could be said at any point in the altercation to justify knocking someone down.
How this incident happened is irrelevant to the anti redistricting crowd. It's the students they don't want their kids near.
