Impossible. I was assured by climate experts here on DCUM that we will NEVER have another cold snowy winter in the DC area again. It was IMPOSSIBLE. They said so.

Same. We have a pretty good heat pump, but there is a differential on how warm they can go! I agree with PP about getting out of the area next time. This is just not what I signed up for. But I also hate extreme hot summers. So I'll be complaining then too.
Your house might feel chilly but everything will be fine and your pipes won't freeze. Just open under sink cabinets and run faucets right before you go to bed and right after you wake up.

Same. We have a pretty good heat pump, but there is a differential on how warm they can go! I agree with PP about getting out of the area next time. This is just not what I signed up for. But I also hate extreme hot summers. So I'll be complaining then too.

How? Even in mild winter weather, let's say it is 45 degrees for 10 straight days...how are you not running your heat by the end of that?
