NAL, NORCAL LEAGUE, EA and renaming them MLSNEXT II.
I think ECNL clubs that are looking to jump to MLS Next we’re worried about their 2nd teams not having a league to play in (currently ECRL).
Now MLSN has formally created a 2nd tier league for clubs to bring their second teams.
This is not good for ECNL on the boys side. ECNL will become the girls league. MLS Next for boys.
Isn't that the case right now?

Anonymous wrote:so does this mean that NAL will no longer exist and all NAL teams will be part of this new league, or will NAL will continue as its own league?

Possibly, but just remember. If DMV had 9 ECNL clubs and 1 MLS Next club. Then it changes to 9 MLS Next clubs and 1 ECNL club. Guess what? Its the same talent pool. This has been going on forever and really hasn't improved anything.
This!!! We need LESS "elite" teams, not more (or rebranded).

Youngest is a junior in HS, can't wait to be done with this sh*t.
If I could tell you the sheer number of different leagues and changes my sons have been through since 2009....oh boy.
Flavor of the day. Mergers. Splits. Folds. When firstborn started NCLS was the bomb, then CCL, EDP, boys DA, then ECNL, then MLSNext ...
Same crap, different name my dad used to say. He coached travel in the DMV back in the early 80s and had all 3 of us in multiple different leagues/clubs, etc. WAGS ruled for a very long time.

NAL has an option down to U11. And it isn't entirely clear that they are renaming NAL MLSN2 but it does seem like a solid guess. They just call it MLSN tier 2.Anonymous wrote:Does all this top tier, 2nd tier badging nonsense start at U13? Or are they going to create BY leagues for the younger age groups too?
