Been there 3 times with kids. No problems. It is noisy, but not overly so (and I am sensitive to loud restaurants). Never ate the food there. They provide fridge in every room and microwave on each floor.
Would not recommend for an autistic child though.

Also, kids tend to do the large slides 20 to 40 times in a day. Each stair case to get up there is total 40-50 stairs. Do the math.

For a good laugh, go to the website and proceed to book a $120 room, the next page then offers a 'package' of food/entertainment savings for $300+. Lol.

Food definitely sucks. My 11 year old on the spectrum, kinda like it. He was too scared to go up to the highest slide. It is very noisy, very humid. I thought the nighttime dance parties were kinda fun. Especially for little kids.

But I need to repeat, the food sucks. Wait, the biscuits and gravy was okaaaaaay.

At the time, there were plenty of reviews of people asking for inspections. The hotel personnel were happy to do it. There was no push-back at all.

Then ask for an inspection, like we did. Don’t just throw up your hands. Take action.

I wouldn’t go unless you have noise cancelling gear that can also be used in the pool. It’s just noisy everywhere.

Agreed. Lots and lots of posts about this one.

One thing to consider is whether your kid is one who reacts to loud noises or to changes in volume. I am a special educator and I have kids in my class who are fine with something like a school dance with a relatively constant high volume of music, but really struggle with something like a pep rally where there is sudden cheering, and kids who are the opposite. Of course there are also kids who are fine with both or struggle with both.

GWL is the school dance in this scenario. Many kids with ASD who we think of as not doing well with loud noise can handle that because what they really can’t handle is being startled.

Yes, 48 inches is the limit. My kids are tall, he was 48 inches by age 6.

We are planning on going on a Sunday-Monday when there is a teacher in service day this winter. Thanks for the restaurant warning - Pierce's looks pretty good, instead.

My kids enjoyed going until around age 12. The loud noise was a factor when they were very young. One time my child refused to even enter the swim area because of the noise. Also keep in the mind that the food is just terrible especially breakfast. I did eventually discover that Kalahari in PA was a better choice than GWL in Williamsburg even though it was a longer drive. It was cleaner and more fun and a better arcade. The absolute best trip for us was during our kids spring break when Pennsylvania schools did not have spring break. We showed up at Kalahari and it was almost empty.
