YouTube really is your friend - there’s tons of information available

And you really do have to practice. Practice the movements when the curling iron is off. The more you do it, the easier it gets. And talk with your stylist. Watch how they do it, ask questions

None of us can recommend a tool that’s so easy you don’t have to work at it - it really is trial and error

If someone's hair is that thin, I don't think they're have a hard time with a curling iron in the first place.

I have really thick hair and use hot rollers and a curling iron. The weight of my hair pulls the curls down.

+1 steam rollers! They do not damage hair and my fine hair keeps the curl. Hot rollers work too but not for every day.

I use steam curlers. Mine are similar to these, but 30 years old. Even with hairspray, the curls would fall out of my hair, but these last much better (as long as your hair stays dry).

I live in a very humid place, so don't use the AirWrap, but I do have the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer and it was a game changer for me. My hair is SO shiny and healthy.

I resisted buying this for years. I used to believe that a hairdryer is a hairdryer, and feel smug as I purchased a $30 model. Then I was in the Dubai Mall with a friend who wanted the AirWrap, and they had a big demo section where a sales associate insisted on "blowing out" my hair with the Dyson while I waited for my friend. Wow. 5 minutes and it looked salon perfect, and I don't think the man who was doing it in the shop had any idea what he was doing.

I will never be without my Dyson hairdryer again. And for you, OP, since you don't live somewhere super humid, I say get the AirWrap.


Haha me too. I travel with it and feel so ridiculously high maintenance but it’s night and day for me
