The highlight:
After arriving in Fairfax County from Honduras in about 2013 and working in the construction industry, Navarette Romero has faced 29 run-ins with area law enforcement officials, according to court records and law enforcement officials, including charges of indecent exposure, assault, and now rape, getting out jail each time.
He’s currently awaiting rape charges and the Fairfax BOS is still not wanting to cooperate with ICE (despite the fact he could have already been deported before he committed many of these offenses). But this is exactly who we should all be agreeing should be deported. This sex offender adds nothing to our community and of course it’s often women who are the victims of these perps so I guess we are just like ehhh about indecent exposure and rape?
This is also the exact type of stupid thing that gets picked up in a headline and becomes fodder for the right to use showing we care more about dangerous immigrants’ rights than we do the safety of our other residents.
Um. Consider the source. Fairfax Times? Really????????
Talk about your right-wing propaganda

Is this better? And they say they don’t want to deport him because he may just come back and commit more crimes.
But we are then releasing him where he … goes out and commits more crimes. 🤨 I’d rather take our chances on sending him back to Honduras than repeatedly back out on the streets of Fairfax County. And if the feds know and haven’t gotten rid of them, then they’re at fault in this too.
Ah well, obviously nothing can be done. Looks like this guy discovered fool proof plan to commit crimes with impunity and we cannot do anything about it unless we make him a citizen. Check mate.

Fairfax County booking procedures exclude a 48 hour period for ICE
https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/sheriff/sites/sheriff/files/Assets/Documents/SOP%20526%20BOOKING%20DESK_0.pdf
VA budget amendment would include at least 48 hours notice pre release for any illegal immigrant accused of a crime.
What can happen currently in Fairfax County appears to be that the release process timing is a problem - arrested 2/22/24 and out same day - https://www.wric.com/news/virginia-news/migrant-charged-with-child-sex-crimes-in-virginia-released-twice-before-ice-arrest/

And I agree with you about not deporting non-violent illegal immigrants. For the most part, the undocumented just want a better life, and contribute a lot to the function of our country.
But repeat violent offenders? This guy is just going to come back if we deport him. These are the people I would support capital punishment for, no question.

This is a valid question. Compare to the thread about the au pair who helped murder the mom. Everyone is upset she cut a deal where she will be deported after testifying against the dad, so she’ll only serve a year or two. If you were raped by someone, would you be upset if they were just deported without serving any time?

Anonymous wrote:I’m a lifelong Dem and an immigrant. Of course he should be deported or extradited to be imprisoned in Honduras. There are so many more deserving immigrants who don’t do despicable things.

+1000 SAME. The things democrats are doing these days its like they're going out of their way to F crap up.
Anonymous wrote:I’ve said this before in this post. Fairfax tells ICE every time an illegal immigrant is detained for a crime. The next step is up to ICE. If they don’t have the manpower or funds to get a Judicial Warrant and come and pick them up, that is the Federal Government’s shortfall.
