Beer is actually less fizzy. Just ask your server if their ginger ale is on the gun or fresh can. If it’s on the gun, ask if they’ll run it a little bit to get the old, flat ginger ale out of the line.

I would only get ginger ale at a restaurant if it were in a can or bottle. At the restaurants where I worked, we were very regularly out of ginger ale. The go-to strategy was to fill the glass with sprite and add a splash of coke. It had the right color, and nobody ever argued about it.

I was anticipating this question but I did not have the time to explain! At home, it's a diet gingerale after dinner with tv. I concede that there are artificial ingredients, but to me it's as good as a ginger ale, maybe better. If I were in a bar and there was no ginger ale I might do club soda and lime.
On a cold winter night when I might have had a glass or two (large) of red wine, I am totally satisfied with my diet gingerale.

I don't drink alcohol anymore but love ginger ale. Especially at night...it has little to no caffeine.
