Besides chemical engineering are there any other strengths ? How do they help students with internships/co-ops/ grad school options/career planning etc? Thanks!

He also applied to and was accepted to Pitt. He applied for chemical engineering, I think - I can't remember which schools allow you to apply to the specific type and which you have to just choose general engineering.
OP here- I think EA from UMN is rolling in gradually. Your DS will likely hear soon and if he was accepted to Pitt, there's a likely chance he was accepted to Minnesota. He should check.
PP here - thanks to you and other responders. Maybe he'll have some good news when I get home from work tonight! And congrats to all who were already accepted!
PP again - still nothing from Minnesota - but he did get a decision for Penn State. In at University Park. So good news anyway!
OP here- congratulations! I expect your DC will also get into Minnesota with these other acceptances, so he will have (at the least) several good choices.

Same exact dates for us. I have read on College Confidential that notification varies widely- maybe by program. Consensus is that they notify on Mondays at 5:20pm for any updates to the portal so just check have kid on Mondays. I think if you "beat the rush" like we did, you get an early response but they are probably in the thick of reviews now. We are still waiting for honor and merit which some have received. They said on the virtual admitted students visit that honors and merit decisions can roll out through March.
I’m PP with the 10/7 acceptance.
We just got merit from MN, two awards including one for a student waiver for instate tuition rates. Total is $17k in merit per year.
