Seriously! They were probably thinking certain brands of cereal, maybe a pack of diapers and wipes, OP. Not freaking car seats. You are way off base!
My parents have bought 5-6 car seats across their 3 grandkids and never batted an eye. My dad has them installed in his pickup truck. This obviously varies by parents level of education on the issue and probably socioeconomics but plenty of grandparents do more than a pack of diapers and wipes….

Bring the seats yourself, wtf
It’s like #1 parenting safety, right before slicing all grapes
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You didn't bring carseats? You flew somewhere without knowing there would be carseats on arrival?
One parent stays at the airport with the kids, and the other parent goes to Walmart and comes back. This is a parent responsibility.
They asked us for a list of things we needed. They bought everything but the car seats (probably because they were the most expensive and they deemed it not necessary. They kept telling us we never used car seats growing up. Lord)

I’m smarter than you: go to the rental car places at the airport and rent car seats.

They bought a stroller, a crib, crib mattress, baby monitor, high chair. So yes, they meant items like these.

You are less smart; the rental carseats are trash.

I would have bought and shipped car seats to them. Point blank period. This is on you, OP.
