And yes, turn off your phone.
And don't come late to class. Any class, not just yoga.
+1
Also, for men: Wear underwear under your shorts. Please.

And some are really and truly doing what they think they should be doing in a yoga class. It’s awkward at times, for sure! But just try to pay attention to what’s happening on your mat as much as possible and tune them out.

Once a week, I have to go to a class about 5 min later to get a kid to school first. I’m not missing a class I love over 5 min late. The instructor knows and is fine with it.
Rude and distracting to the rest of the class. Drop your kid off earlier.
Sorry, no. It’s up to the studio and instructor…this isn’t yoga btw. Plenty of people come late to my yoga classes as well as others.
Then why are you commenting on a yoga thread?Yoga classes have 5-10 minutes of centering at the beginning. It's VERY disrupting to come into the room in the middle of that.
Anonymous wrote:I wonder why people aren't as interested in yoga classes as they were in the past. Does it have to do with the teachers, the yoga spaces, the costs, demographic changes.
I know of a few yoga studios and retreats, but the in person experience has changed.

Are you all particularly sensitive, or am I going to all the wrong yoga classes???
No one makes weird noises and foul farts in the classes I've attended.
+1 I have been to different yoga classes over the years and have never experienced any of these.

If you are breathing loudly then you are pushing yourself too hard. This isn't no-pain no-gain. This is do-it at your body's pace and the results will come. The guys that do it gracefully did it a for a long time. Its like trying to bench 300lbs because you saw everyone else do it on your first day.
Wow, no. That is not how breathing in yoga works.
