These scouting camps are mostly marketing. Getting “chosen” does not mean your kid is national team caliber at all. Everyone knows who the truly special players are very quickly. If your kid is not easily above everyone else every time they play, which any coach or even soccer fan would notice right away, they are not that special. Unicorns are easy to spot.

40 girls this year - 30 ECNL / 6 GA / 1 ECRL / 3 Other


The discrepancy between ECNL and GA lies in the fact that ECNL sits under US Club Soccer and ID2 is a US Club Soccer program. The GA girls that were there come from clubs that have another non-GA/USYS affiliation with their home club.

Could not be more false. 4 US Federation scouts there all three days, 2 for boys and 2 for the girls. Watched every session, of every day.

Not at the age group we were at. It was B level at best.

i was there, the talent level was incredibly high. All ECNL/GA/USYNT invites. But you are correct, not every ECNL club nominated kids to participate so certainly there are kids from top ECNL clubs that were not there. That is probably because their clubs chose not to participate. But the level of talent at that event was incredible. I am speaking on the girls side.


Bingo. Certain clubs in Northern Virginia chose not to participate because they can only nominate a small number of players and are afraid to cause any drama.

What does this have to do with ID2 camp? Wrong thread. Plus only 9 of the 2011 girls are going to Super Y. Super Y is not just ECNL - Rec and RL girls play so there must be some 2010s going to Super Y that weren’t ECNL (and in St Louis). Still, wrong thread.


Another thread indicated that the full ECNL team was going and then not taking some of the girls that played over the summer.
