How do you even make it through the day? I hope you’re setting aside a few minutes to eat in between writing that half page of information. Strength to you, sister!

I never spent any time on any of that. I figured if my kids belonged in AAP, it would be obvious through whatever our aart submitted for my child. I was correct.

This is why we kept a running log of examples on our phones for about six months prior. We included a short reminder of anything that struck us as particularly creative/out of the norm. I also kept a pile of things done at home for samples - comics written, math games made, etc. Made the actual assembly fairly quick and easy. It's only really onerous if you wait until the last minute.

Don't do the bolded. Just don't do it. Give the best presentation you can of your kid now, just like your AART should be trying to do. That way you hopefully don't have to appeal.

And FCPS will definitely wait until Friday before a break to release information where possible. They love giving AAP admissions information on the Friday right before spring break. To be fair, given that it's 6 teachers from a random school determining if your kid is in AAP or not, it's not fair for your school or central office to be flooded with calls about AAP status and appeals. And similarly given that central office does the in-pool numbers, it's not fair for say your kids' second grade teacher or the testing coordinator at your school to get complaints about the timing of the emails. So they try to minimize the possibility that people will call.
