Colgate goes down to about 3.4/3/5 at our school (top private). It's one of my daughter's safeties (per the advice of college counseling) and she has a 3.85.
Your college counselor is giving you very poor advice. Schools with admit rates of under 15% are not safeties. Full stop. Following that guidance may lead to disappointing results.

Anonymous wrote:It really matters where they are in the class rank. It doesn’t matter if the school actually ranks. The colleges know because many of the top kids are all applying to the same schools.
