No suggestions, but I will say don't eliminate the pointy ones so quickly. A lot of the current pointy shoes are actually square right up to after the toe, and then the point is extended only after that. I can't wear anything but sneakers most of the time, but I've found that I can wear - for a single evening - many of the pointy flats that are out there now, as they no longer squish the toes.

Another vote for Rodger Vivier. They are the only flats I wear asides from Ferragamos.

I think fabric is easier to look dressy than leather for flats.

Roger vivier has some really pretty flats that you could wear w/ a cocktail dress but they are pricey

Buy a pair of clip on rhinestone bows or some other dressy clip on.

Put the clips on your most comfy flat shoes and VOILA! you now have dressy flats.
