You clearly don’t work there. The big boss believes in turnover and enforces 10-15% of his workforces churned every 6 month.

LOl! Big boss just talk about silly stuff about his kids on the calls. I run a big team there and we were told to keep a certain number of employees to continue getting the budget. I have 2 females in my group that barely do any work and just discuss their mental issues. They are on Capone welfare. It is no different than a Govt office with less scrutiny and legal repercussions.

You are responsible for assigning work, big boss 🤣

As a customer, the view from the outside is of a dysfunctional organization that is technically backward.

Constant re-org, insider club.
Discover merger is going to be a beast for them to handle.

It's opposite. if you don't have any enthusiasm to work for then stay there.

I think that’s one of the keys to survival there. There’s a core bunch of associates (who never seem to be on the chopping block) that literally post daily on LinkedIn about all of their achievements and how grateful they are to their bosses and Cap One. They also love to post about all of their quasi work-related extra curricula activities. As a previous poster said, it’s the Hunger Games and survival of the fittest.

I don't find Tech at Capone to be very challenging. They hire contractors on a phone call interview and then slowly get them hired as Capone employee. Very bad system.

This is very true. Working in banking vs cards vs tech vs audit etc is going to be very different culture and demands. Rising through Tech at any of these organizations is hard and somewhat cut throat.

I worked in tech and card and depending what your role is, there is certain level of red tape and harassment you would face. Bonuses really are only meaningful at Director or higher level but they could be doing some layoffs after merger with Discover.
