Why would I teach my kids the names of the illegitimate Supreme Court justices? Most of these were nominated by Republicans who, until recently, hadn't won a popular vote in 30 years. They're out of touch with mainstream Americans, and their corruption is well-documented.

I went to a top college and the top law school, and I'm not sure I could name the Supreme Court justices until I was well into law school. This seems to me to be excessive to expect from a ES kid. There's more important stuff to know than knowing who Samuel Alito and Amy Barrett are. And I have no idea who my delegate and state senator are. In fact, I think I get weekly emails from them and I STILL don't know their names.

The process of learning how to memorize is still serving them well though.

You can tell who went to private and who went to public schools this way. My kid switched to private school in MS and was do happy to finally learn stuff (content). He learned about vague crap like communities for years in public ES.

OP here..thanks all, clearly much work needs to be done on my part since she is asserting that North Korea is one of our states.

I have spent hundreds of hours tutoring her over years and will add geography to the list.

Her MCPS education has been a huge disappointment but it is what it is.
